Ring shaped UFO filed near Los Angeles Airport

An interesting video of a Ring-Shaped UFO that first appeared on Youtube in December 2008 has started doing the usual rounds, but before you dismiss it, have a look as it does look intriguing. The exact location isn’t made clear, but it appears to have been filed at a beach(?) near Los Angeles Airport (LAX).

If anybody has anymore info, please leave a comment below.

Betty & Barney Hill Alien Abduction exhibition

Betty and Barney Hill are perhaps one of the most famous alleged UFO abductions cases from the early days of Flying Saucers and UFOs. Now thousands of items belonging to the Hills – from the torn dress Betty wore that night, to tapes of the Hills recounting their experience under hypnosis, to a papier-mache bust of the extraterrestrial generalissimo are available for public study at a University of New Hampshire museum.

Betty and Barney Hill

Betty and Barney Hill

Betty and Barney Who?
On the night of September 19, 1961, the Hills were driving toward their home in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, from Canada via U.S. Highway 3 through the White Mountains. Betty noticed a bright light which appeared to be moving erratically and flashing different coloured lights. At times, it seemed to be spinning. They stopped a few times to look at it through binocular. As the object approached, they discerned a large disk-shaped craft with windows around its rim. After stopping the car, Barney looked at the UFO through binoculars as it hovered silently, about fifty feet away from him. He could see at least six beings, wearing dark uniforms, watching him through the windows. All but one turned away to attend by a large control panel behind them. The object then continued its gradual descent. Two fins, each bearing a red light, were slowly extending from the right and left of the craft. Another extension was lowered from its base.

Barney became terrified by the eyes of the one crew member who continued to stare at him and who reminded him of a German Nazi. Convinced he was about to be captured, Barney ran back to the car, screaming. They drove off quickly. Soon they heard an irregular beeping sound coming from the trunk, and felt a tingling sensation and drowsiness. Another series of beeps aroused them and they discovered they had travelled thirty-five miles and could not recall what had happened in between. Their watches had also stopped running.

Ten days later, Betty began to have a series of vivid dreams in which she and Barney were taken aboard a flying saucer and medically examined. The dreams continued for five successive nights. She related these dreams to her friends and colleagues, and made a written record of all the details.

During an interview with civilian UFO investigators one month after the incident, Betty and Barney realised that the trip from Canada to Portsmouth had taken at least two hours longer than it should have. The investigators suggested that the Hills try to find out what had transpired during the missing time through HYPNOSIS.

Big Cat photographed near Duffus Castle, Scotland

More UK Big Cat Sightings – this one is interesting and the photos are pretty good.

Duffus Castle big Cat

Duffus Castle big Cat

Craig (30), from Lossiemouth, was at Duffus Castle on Easter Sunday with his wife, Angela, and 3 children when he sighted the creature.

“I have three house cats, so I know how big they are, and it was about twice the size of a normal cat,” he said.

“It had broader shoulders and was far more muscular. Its ears were much bigger as well.”

This was the second time Craig has caught sight of a black cat, at the same location, but the first time he has captured it on film.

“I have a Canon SLR camera which has a telephoto zoom lens, so I was able to get a good shot of it.”

Craig estimated he was about 400 feet away from the cat when he spotted it emerging from woodland near the castle.

“It definitely wasn’t something you would have walking about the house. I was watching it for more than five minutes.”

Milk and Feces found in preserved baby Mammoth

Almost perfectly preserved baby Mammoth

Almost perfectly preserved baby Mammoth

I’m completely amazed by this story of the baby mammoth that was found frozen a few years ago in Russia (check out the video below).

Fecal residue and traces of prehistoric milk have been found in the digestive track of an almost perfectly preserved baby mammoth, according to a new analysis.

Lyuba, a one month old mammoth that died approximately 40,000 years ago has been gently poked, prodded, and scanned by an international team of scientists since she was discovered two years ago in the Russian Arctic.

The calf appears to have perished when she either drowned or was suffocated in mud near the edge of a river.

Milk residue found during the latter analysis, combined with a fat hump on the back of her neck, indicate that the baby mammoth was healthy and well fed, said team member Daniel Fisher of the University of Michigan.

The hump generated heat and was used by baby mammoths to stay warm during the first months of their lives, Fisher added.

5 new UK Big Cat Sightings

There seems to be an every increasing number of strange big cat sighting here in the UK, below are five recent reports and stories from across the UK.

Is this the Fen Tiger?

Is this the Fen Tiger?

First up, The Elusive Fen Tiger.
A farmer (name withheld) from Soham Fen just outside Ely, claims to have spotted and photographed a large black cat on the 1st of April. Now that date is a difficult to take serious as it is obviously known for all sorts of tom-foolery, but the ‘beast’ was seen wandering around Soham Fen in the early hours.

“It was standing around 5ft at the shoulder with distinctive black and white markings and a menacing set of teeth. I kept my distance as it looked my way and he didn’t look very happy. I keep a few chickens, so I rang my missus to tell her to keep an eye out.” said the farmer.

Black Panther sighting near North Elmham, Norfolk
There have been numerous sightings of the panther-like animal near Aylsham and Aylmerton and now the beast has been spotted in North Elmham.

Daphne and Reg Ivany, from Dereham, saw the animal while they were walking near the County School railway track on February 20. Mr Ivany said the cat was about 50 yards away in an adjacent field. “We wondered what it was at first. It was bigger than a dog. It had a long body and a long bushy tail. From the side view you could see it had a square jaw. It seemed to glide along like a cat.

Preston Dock Beast!

Preston Dock Beast!

Big Cat seen in Lancashire dock!
Concrete plant worker Tony Young claims to have discovered a mysterious sight in the water of the outer basin at Preston Dock, off Lockside Road.

He said: “I was walking on the dock at about 8.15am and I saw it. ”There was a lad there who goes round doing the lifeboat rings. “He was just coming up to me and I said ‘What does that look like to you?’ He said it was a log.”

But Mr Young thinks it was the body of an animal – possibly a big cat. “The face of it looks like a big cat, like a puma or a panther”, “It doesn’t look like a soft toy because a soft toy would have a friendly face, this had a really mean face and a short snout.”

Do big cats prowl Sir Paul McCartney’s house?
Environmentalists have secured £150,000 to help determine – once and for all – if big cats exist in and around the Scottish home of Sir Paul McCartney. Sir Paul has a farmhouse on Kintyre, Arygllshire, which he famously immortalised with the single Mull of Kintyre. Now the peninsula is getting a reputation for big four-legged creatures.

A number of sightings of a large black cat have been reported at Machrihanish – on the southern tip – and other places on Kintyre over the last few years. The big cat claims have now prompted a formal fact-finding mission. The survey will focus on the 88-mile stretch from Tarbert to Southend known as the Kintyre Way. Locals and visitors alike will be asked to report sightings of big cats along the route.

Shaun Baxter with Claw Marks

And lastly, Dad shocked by big cat sighting!
CLAWED into a tree trunk, these fearsome-looking scratch marks could be evidence of the latest sighting of a mysterious black panther thought to be prowling East Anglia.

Shaun Baxter, a father of one, said he spotted the big cat gouging out the markings while he was shooting rabbits in a field just off Bacton Road between North Walsham and Edingthorpe in Norfolk on Sunday afternoon.

He said: “I was standing next to a tree in my camouflage gear and about 70 yards away was a big black panther-like cat. “It was scratching on a tree, like a normal household cat would do at its scratching post.”

Mystery animal photographed in New Zealand

Strange Cat-like animal spotted in New Zealand

Strange Cat-like animal spotted in New Zealand

A mysterious creature, about the size of a large dog has been photographed by tourists in New Zealand.

Scottish tourists Charlie and Marie Limond photographed what they described as a “lynx-sized mountain lion”, at McLeays Creek in the Lindis Pass.

“It was definitely way bigger than your domestic cat. About the size of an Alsatian dog,” Mr Limond told the Otago Daily Times yesterday.

The couple were driving along State Highway 8, through the Lindis Pass, last week, when Mr Limond said he saw the animal “out of the corner of my eye”.

They turned their car around and said they watched the big cat, about 200m away, from the roadside for about seven minutes.

It’s difficult to see clearly, but it does look like a large animal, but from the photograph it could easily be just a large dog.

American made UFO spotted in Afghanistan

Boeing X-45 and Northrop Grumman X-47B

April 14, 2009: An unidentified, jet propelled UAV has been spotted operating from an American airbase in Afghanistan. It’s a flying wing design, similar to the X-45s and X-47s built as development aircraft for the U.S. Air Force and Navy. These UCAVs (Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicles) were built to carry weapons, and the one spotted in Afghanistan may have a bomb bay as well.

The U.S. Air Forces X-45A combat UAV (UCAV) dropped its first smart bomb in 2004. There are also purely reconnaissance jet powered UAVs built as experimental vehicles.

Last year, the U.S. Navy rolled out its first combat UAV. This was part of a six year long, $636 million contract to build and test two X-47B aircraft. The test program calls for first flight this year and first carrier landing in two years. The 15 ton X-47B has a wingspan of 62 feet (whose outer 15 foot portions fold up to save space on the carrier). It carries a two ton payload and be able to stay in the air for twelve hours.

African Sidamo Lark could soon be extinct

The Sidamo lark inhabits a tiny area of grassland in southern Ethiopia

The Sidamo lark inhabits a tiny area of grassland in southern Ethiopia

The Sidamo lark could soon be the first bird on mainland Africa to die out since modern records began.

A survey has found that just a few hundred of the larks survive in Ethiopia. Unless action is taken to save it, the bird will disappear.

While it may be the first recorded bird extinction on the continent, it will not be the last, warn conservationists.

The birds inhabit a very small pocket of grassland within the Liben Plain of southern Ethiopia.

“This imminent extinction reflects a wider social and political crisis that is repeated throughout Africa,” said zoologist Claire Spottiswoode of the University of Cambridge.

She led a survey of the bird’s habitat and published her findings in the journal Animal Conservation.

Shape shifting balls of light filmed in Italy

This is great, probably just a clever cgi job, but thought provoking. You have to wait about a minute until the light(s) are first seen and then the fun begins.

The caption/information for the film stats: “this video is taken in italy and this time it whas daytime so stil don,t believe in ufos explain me than what is this?“. Humm, as I say, clever cgi?

Note: keep an eye out for the super fast kid playing with the football!

Katie Price and Peter Andre ‘Allegedly’ spot UFO (great!)

Which one is the Alien?

Which one is the Alien?

Just when the whole idea of UFOs was starting to get a little bit of creditable attention, two muppets go and claim that on their very first trip to Area 51 they see, and video ‘weird lights’…

I’m sorry, but this just doesn’t help and is obviously just a cleverly planed publicity stunt. After all, they have just arrived back in the UK from Los Angeles where they have been living for three months – and the reason they are back? To promote their new show which followed them around!

“You just wait ’til you see it. We went to Area 51 and saw these really weird lights,” Price told Sky News Online.

Her husband, Australian singer Peter Andre, agreed: “What we saw was freaky whether you believe us or not. It was the most eerie thing ever.”

Apparently they are also good friends with Alien obsessed Robbie Williams – muppets the lot of them, or should that be puppets like Barnes and Lovick!?
