A new snake with the ability to spontaneously change colour has been discovered in the forests of the Heart of Borneo, one of the most biologically diverse regions on Earth, possessing staggeringly high numbers of unique species across all groups of plants and animals. The half-metre-long venomous snake is normally brown with an iridescent sheen, but can turn white. It is not yet known whether the snake can become other colours too, or what exactly [...]
The US space agency begun a three-day countdown on Wednesday at 5 p.m. (EDT), in preparation for the launch of its next space shuttle mission on Saturday. During a countdown status briefing at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, NASA Test Director Jeff Spaulding announced that “Discovery is in excellent shape.” “We’re tracking no issues in our preparation at this point. Our teams have been working tirelessly during this last year to help make this [...]
This weeks UFO Monday is actually on Tuesday! Sorry about that… UFO or kids balloon? Amateur photographer Ray Gilbert reckons he caught more than one flying object on camera when a Dakota aeroplane completed a flypast over Grantham Carnival on Saturday. Read more: UFO Pictured in Carnival Flypast Pensioner’s UFO plans scuppered A pensioner went to the Appeal Court to have his design recognised – for a flying saucer.
A war of worlds has broken out surrounding the clams regarding the ‘alleged’ Pyramids of Bosnia. As Cryptoworld readers will recall, Bosnian-American pyramid buff Semir “Sam” Osmanagic claims a four-sided hill in the town of Visoko is Europe’s first known pyramid, and larger than any ever built in Egypt. Excavations carried out by Osmanagic and his team in April 2006 uncovered what they describe are large stone blocks shaped by human hands and a network [...]
The giant tortoise, known as Harriet, who was believed to have been one of three tortoises taken from the Galapagos Islands by Charles Darwin on his historic 1835 voyage aboard HMS Beagle, has died aged 176. It spent a few years in Britain before being moved to the Brisbane Botanic Gardens in Australia’s tropical Queensland state in the mid-1800s, where it was mistaken for a male and nicknamed Harry. Harriet was believed to be the [...]
Weird Weekend 2005 It’s that time of year again! Craziness with the CFZ! So if you have nothing better to do over the weekend of the 18th-20th August, then I highly recommend you head down to Devon and have some damn find crypto-fun! Highlights will definitely include some alcohol, giggles, a damn good meal or two and Richard Freeman looking very dapper in his Gambia-Stained Safari Suit… nice! A recent mailer from CFZ’s Jon concerning [...]
Yesterday, was the longest day of the year here in the UK, I say UK as it was still the day before or even tomorrow in some parts of the world! So seeing how we’re now living in Wiltshire, it seemed logical to try and witness the Summer Solstice sunrise at either Stonehenge or Avebury. Stonehenge didn’t seem like the best option, as we felt it would be crowded and a nightmare to get there [...]
UFO round-up for Monday 19th June 2006. A few interesting reports, and a classic Nasa/Air Force disagreement — what’s your thoughts? Reflected light? Or was it a UFO over the Pyramids? Mysterious lights and reflective object seen dancing around or hovering above the Pyramids at Giza, Egypt. UFO’s? Or just a trick of the light? In March a series of pictures captured by pyramidcam.com, appeared to show a highly reflective object above the Pyramids at [...]
Nasa have set a launch date of July the 1st, dismissing fears over safety. Safety officials have said that Discovery is not safe to fly, and that modifications carried out to prevent chunks of protective foam breaking off where not enough. Conflicting views on the modifications haven’t helped matters, and Nasa administrator Michael Griffin told a news conference “I can’t possibly accept every recommendation given to me by every member of my staff, especially when [...]
