[SinglePic not found]There is news that there has been some ‘armed’ searches in Chile and Argentina for a hominoid creature said to be responsible for a spate of animal killings and attacks on humans.
The alleged creature, more commonly know as the Chupacabra is believed to be responsible for more than 200 animal mutilations, including some rather bizarre cases where chickens have had all of their blood sucked out of their bodies!
The Miami UFO Center learned of the searches by farmers in Chile, and by police near the city of Rosario in Argentina. last week, but they had not heard if there has been any searches since.
The Space Shuttle Mission Management Team decided to postpone the launch of Space Shuttle Atlantis for at least 24 hours following the lightning strike to the lightning protection system on Friday.
The delay will give Nasa and the Mission Management Team time to asses whether anything was damaged as a result of the lightning strike.
The Mission Management Team are due to reconvene on Sunday, to review the data and decide if everything is A-OK for a Monday launch

The big black cat of Canterbury?
Hunters have photographed what looks like a cougar or mountain lion near Canterbury New Zealand.
The now famous “big black cat” of Canterbury has been spotted many times over the last five years, enough times in fact to warrant an official search. But nothing conclusive has ever been found.
The new photos appear to show a large ‘panther’ like animal walking along a deer track, before disappearing into the thick shrub.
The Space Shuttle Atlantis is all set, and ready for a launch on Sunday 28th August.
The main goal of this mission is to add a new Solar Array to the International Space Station (ISS).
When fitted, the new solar array will double the amount of electricity currently being generated on the ISS, allowing for three new science laboratories and two new living chambers.
Atlantis is only the 3rd shuttle to have taken off since the loss of Columbia and her crew in 2003, and although Discovery had a very successful mission in July, Atlantis will still have to go through the same vigorous safety checks.
What appears to be a Capybara has been spotted in Lunenburg (believe the spelling is correct?), Massachusetts.
The McDonald family first heard their basset hound “yappinging up a storm”, and when they went to investigate, a large rodent was seen coming out of the woods.
Mr McDonald said “I thought it was an overgrown woodchuck,”. But Mr McDonald’s wife, who watches “The Crocodile Hunter” on cable TV every night, easily identified the animal.
Astronomers meeting in the Czech capital have voted to strip Pluto of its status as a planet.
2,500 odd scientists meet in Prague for the International Astronomical Union’s (IAU) general assembly, and rejected a proposal that would have seen Pluto retain its status as a proper planet.
Instead, Pluto has now been re-classed as one of the smaller ‘Dwarf Planets’. Which mean it will probably have to be removed from all those nice wall charts in the school class rooms around the world!
But why has it been demoted?
Even though Pluto was smaller than some of the moons in the Solar System, it was still the biggest known object in the Kuiper Belt, which allowed it the status of planet.
Colin Headworth and his wife watched with amazement, as five red glowing lights moved erratically in the night sky over Brixham harbour.
They first spotted three lights around 1.45am on August the 13th. They had a soft amber glow, similar to the colour of a flare, but the wind was in the wrong direction, so they thought it must have been helicopters or aircraft.
Whitish-Yellow Ball of Light – could it have beena UFO?
A student from Murwillumbah, New South Wales says she spotted a strange bright light in the sky while driving home from work.
At first she though it was just a street light, but then noticed it was moving, and then noticed it was moving very fast – faster than an aeroplane.

Lake Monster or Wells Catfish?
A university lecturer and his wife have told of their surprise and subsequent horror at seeing what he can only describe as a Loch Ness type lake-monster in Lake Windermere.
Steve Burnip and his wife Eileen saw the serpent-like creature from the popular Watbarrow viewpoint at the north-end of the lake.
They claim the creature was about 15-20 foot long, with a small head and two small humps in its wake – “It was like a giant eel.” said Steve.
Lake ‘monster’ sighting
A HOLIDAYMAKER has spoken of his horror at seeing a Loch Ness-type monster’ emerge from the depths of Windermere, report Paul Duncan and Peter Otway.
University lecturer Steve Burnip and his wife, Eileen, were shocked at seeing the serpent-like creature surface from the waters as they stood at a well-known viewpoint.

Weird Lights follow airplane
Passengers aboard an internal flight in Russian believe that their plane was being tailed by a convoy of UFOs.
Although not visible with the naked eye, they lights (UFOs) where more than visible on their digital cameras and mobile phones.
Experts so far haven’t given an official explanation, but it is thought by some that the weird lights are nothing more than just a freflection in the planes windows.
UFOs convoy planes in Moscow
Yesterday several people who were flying from Russian town Volgograd to Moscow witnessed quite unusual situation.
The first who noticed IT was Eugenia Kazarinova. She was the first who accidentally photographed invisible UFO that was following the plane. Eugenia Kazarinova saw nothing but a beautiful landscape outside the illuminator, but when she took several photos she noticed strange lights on them. She was worried and showed the photos to other passengers. They began to take photos using their cameras and mobile phones. The strange lights were present on almost all the photos.
