Rare Philippine Spotted Deer Discovered

One of the world’s most elusive mammals has revealed itself. Footprints and scat belonging to the Visayan spotted deer have been found deep in the Philippines jungle. Less than 300 of the deer are thought to remain, confined to just two islands, making it one of the most vulnerable of all mammals. The discovery proves a small population survives in the wild, despite the ongoing threat to its survival from hunting and deforestation. An expedition [...]

UFOs and Helicopters filmed near Horn Lake

The number of Tasmanian devils in the wild is thought to have fallen by up to 70% since the mid-1990s. The new conservation status will give the animals greater protection under national environment laws. [...]

A new study has shown how Native Americans had sophisticated knowledge of tooth anatomy, which allowed them to perform some remarkable dentistry, adding semiprecious gems to their teeth. The study show how they were adding “bling” to their teeth as far back as 2,500 years ago, probably using a drill-like device with a hard stone such as obsidian, which is capable of puncturing bone and herb based anaesthetic to numb the pain.
