Weird indeed! Wild boars have taken up residence in Berlin, there are so many of them now that people have become accustom to seeing them almost all over the city. However, don’t get caught feeding them, as a nasty fine awaits!
People in Berlin are growing used to the sight of wild boar in the streets, as increasing numbers of them come into the city to look for food.
Anyone caught feeding them is fined, special fences have been built to keep them out and the city has also had to employ a wild boar hunter to try to control them.

How come nobody pens them up? Does no one eat them? They could sell the meat, couldn’t they?

When I lived in Berlin-Zehlendorf (about 5 years ago) it was totally normal to stumble across wild animals like hogs, foxes, deers etc. 🙂
