Strange shape-shifting rain-frog has been found in the Andes
The frog, dubbed the “punk rocker” was found by students at Case Western Reserve University, and first thought they had collected the wrong frog. But then after they transferred the frog to a different container which contained moss, they couldn’t believe their eyes, the frog changed its colour and skin texture to match its new soundings.
Dubbed the “punk rocker” frog, the marble-size amphibian is the first vertebrate known to change its skin texture.
A shape-shifting frog that bears more similarities to a character from Marvel’s X-Men has been discovered by students at Case Western Reserve University.
The frog, a pristimantis sobetes, was discovered in the Andes and possesses the unique ability to mimic the surface it is sitting on and can change the texture of its skin within minutes.
