Everybody seems to have gone big cat crazy after an alleged Lion was seen in Essex (UK). News sites, Facebook and Twitter were a buzz with reports and sightings, several pictures appeared online, most were just fake while people were having a laugh.
But was it really a Lion? Or just a big scruffy domestic cat?
The only picture I believe to be real is this, and from what I can see I really think it was just a cat! Or possibly even a stuffed toy!?
The Essex police have now called off their search and people appear to be returning to normal life… I suspect the Essex Lion will now enter the urban legened books and will continue to be spotted every now and again.
