Super rare sighting of the Ili Pika! First time it has been photographed in over 20 years!

The Ili pika (Ochotona iliensis) dubbed ‘magic rabbit’ is found in the Tian Shan mountains of northwest Chinese province of Xinjiang, and is only 20cm (8 inches) in length), so quiet small and I guess not easy to spot.

Measuring eight inches from button nose to furry tail, the rabbit relative goes by the nickname ‘magic rabbit’ and is so rare most people don’t even know it exists.

With only around 1,000 of the little guys believed to be left in their natural habitat – the Tianshan mountain range in the Xinjiang area of northwestern China – they are also one of the world’s most endangered animals.

In the late 80s I started investigating UFOs and crop circles and joined the CCCS (Centre for Crop Circle Studies) and a local group researching strange sightings and reports along the south coast of Dorset (UK). In the early ’90s I started my own research group called SPS (Strange Phenomena Studies), this was renamed in 2004 to Cryptoworld.
