A camera trap being used to survey jaguar populations in the Ecuadorian Amazon rain forest has captured a photo of the rare short-eared dog.
Researchers from the Wildlife Conservation Society have set up heat-sensing cameras to capture shots of the jungle-dwelling carnivores and has captured 75 new jaguar pictures since 2007.
As well as jaguars and the short-eared dog, the cameras have also captured images of a heard of piglike white-lipped peccaries.
