Strange lights spotted over Guernsey

Strange Lights in the Sky

Strange Lights in the Sky

A commercial airline pilot from one plane and passengers from another have reported that they saw two bright yellow flat disc shapes, estimated to be twice the size of a Boeing 737, in the sky near Guernsey.

John Spencer, deputy chairman of the British UFO Research Association, said: “These types of sightings have been reported by pilots - generally accepted to be reliable and sensible observers - since the 1940s and they have excited attention to this day.

“Such light effects are often popularly thought to represent alien visitors but many UFO researchers believe they more likely represent natural, atmospheric, phenomena not yet fully understood by science.

Atmospheric phenomena, black budget aircraft or UFO of the alien kind? Have you seen any strange lights in the sky? If so, Cryptoworld would like to hear from you.

Gary Mckinnon

Gary Mckinnon

Gary McKinnon who allegedly caused thousands of dollars of damage to US army, air force and NASA property by hacking their computer systems, has lost his appeal against his extradition to the US where he could face a military tribunal and up to 70 years in jail.

Mckinnon, alias “Solo”, claimed he only hacked systems in 2001 while searching for evidence of UFOs and proof of advanced technology.

But the US (Pentagon) claims he caused $700,000 (£375, 000) worth of damage while crippling their systems.

UFO shoot down over Iran?

Unidentified Flying Object

Unidentified Flying Object

Did Iran shoot down a UFO? A Spyplane? Or was it just an exercise to test their combat alertness and power of their new air defence system?

A bright object was sighted in the sky of Arak, Iran’s Central Province, Friday night, and was shot down by the Iranian anti-aircraft missiles, BAZTAB reported.

The Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) was completely destroyed by the country’s new air defence system, the report said. BAZTAB has learned that the bright object might have been a pilotless drone.

Few months ago, the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) confirmed reports that its drones were conducting reconnaissance flights over the Iranian sky.

Rio Grande sand circles created by artist not UFOs

Rio Grand Circle artist

Rio Grand Circle artist

The mysterious sand circles found on the banks of the Rio Grande have turned out to be created by a local artist, and not the work of Aliens!

The work of art, called “Inner Sanctum”, was crafted by Michael Alford who said “Art is a mystery, but this mystery is man-made, not alien-made,”.

On hearing that the circles where man-made, some visitors had expressed anger at what they called a hoax, but Alford confessed that it was not meant as a hoax, and that he had spent the last month and a half making the circles in broad daylight.

UFO filmed over Avebury Wiltshire

This is an old story from 2003, but seems to be making the rounds again and some people seem to think it is a new sighting from 2007.

The truth behind the story is a little bit bizarre, but it seems that an amateur cameraman caught the object in the English countryside. I say English countryside as the video and story was first aired on Seven News in Australia.

Make what you will of these pictures shot by an amateur cameraman in the English countryside. It’s definitely a UFO - an unidentified flying object - but whether it came from outer space is yet to be determined.
- Channel 7 News, 18 August 2003

A few days later, a local Wiltshire paper, the Swindon Evening Advertiser, released the following, which kind of knocked the whole thing on the head.

A Spooky sighting over stone circle
UFO spotters will be dismayed to learn that the object was not being flown by little green men, but by a pair of pranksters in a disguised microlight.

Strange lights over London (Video)

More Islington UFOs

More Islington UFOs

On February the 1st, a pattern of strange lights were seen over Islington and Archway in London.

The story in the Islington Gazette reports,

10 to 15 lights were seen moving in a southerly direction before stopping, hovering for about ten minuets and then moving up into the sky and out of sight.

Now there is a video of the lights, which to me still looks like another balloon and light stunt, what’s your thought?

Mysterious lights seen over London

Islington UFOs

Islington UFOs

Residents in Islngton and Archway (London) spotted dozens of mysterious lights in the sky on Thursday evening, which appears to have caused a bit of panic.

A story in the Islington Gazette reports 10 to 15 lights were seen moving in a southerly direction before stopping, hovering for about ten minuets and then moving up into the sky and out of sight.

Local Police contacted the Oxford-based Contact International UFO Research group who said they had had other witness call them reporting the same thing.

Was this a formation of planes, UFOs or just a elaborate prank made out of illuminated balloons?

More O’Hare UFO photos and links (pt3)

Photo of Ohare UFO?

Photo of Ohare UFO?

It was only a matter of time and not a surprise to learn that shortly after the first fuzzy picture appeared on the net - see O’Hare UFO picture and links (pt2) there appeared several others. All (unsurprisingly) looking similar in shape, size and colour.

Now call me a cynic, but the two images that appeared today are - well - a lot like the first and that, like these are hard to work out if the grey blob is really is an unknown object, speck of dust, or just a plane taking off or landing!

Ok so I am a cynic, but hopefully some real evidence will surface one day, but for now, I guess we will have to suffer more of these “very poor” camera-phone pics.

O’Hare UFO picture and links (pt2)

Ohare UFO?

Ohare UFO?

Today a picture appeared on the inter-net that is alleged to be the UFO that appeared over the O’Hare Airport on 7th December 2006.

The picture was taken with a mobile phone by a friend of a member of the abovetopsecret forum, who clams to have been at the airport at the time of the incident.

Setting aside for a moment as to whether the picture is real or not, I find it odd that this has only now come to light, as it is almost two months now since the sighting and subsequent media frenzy interest and FAA fiasco of are they or aren’t they investigating! (Did they investigate it in the end or not?)
