A team of people, including local Police, are searching for a mysterious ape (monkey) around Paphos, a coastal town along the southern tip of Cyprus.
It is thought to be a lost or even abandoned pet monkey or ape, but for those who have seen it, it is a mysterious phantom beggar!
A Capybara
Peter Dent, a trawler fisherman, was socked when the fish turned up in his nets. According to the UK newspaper the Mirror “I’ve certainly never caught anything like this before. I was just doing my normal drift-netting when I noticed this huge fish,” said Dent.
“I didn’t know what it was and at first thought it must have been a shark. When I brought it in, I realised what it was. I was absolutely amazed.” Peter added: “These waters are changing and you can get a few surprises these days.”
