The Loch Ness monster was believed to exist according to a 1930s declassified document.
In 1938, the chief constable of Inverness-shire raised concerns about protecting Nessie from hunters!
In a letter released by the National Archives of Scotland (NAS), he wrote: “That there is some strange fish [creature] in Loch Ness now seems beyond doubt.”
Interestingly he refers to it as a “strange fish“, and not a creature or monster.
But what is clear is at the time there was a real concern for the safety of the locals, tourists and the monster itself (if it exists!).
Another hairless creature has been found, this time near Panama City.
The creature, dumbed a Montauk Monster look-a-like was allegedly spotted by teenagers crawling out of a cave near the town of Cerro Azul, north of Panama City.
Fearing for their safety as the beast moved towards them, they attacked the creature with sticks before throwing it into a pool of water.
They later returned to take pictures of the hairless, rubbery body, which were then posted on the website of the Central American Telemetro Television station.
The story and photos have now been reported on almost every Cryptozoology website with varying theories and explanations – hairless sloth seems to be one theory?
I’m a bit sceptical and suspect we will continue to see more and more of these weird things.
An interesting video of a light filmed over Argentina. It could be a UFO, well I guess it is an unidentified object, but as usual there doesn’t appear to be any way of determining size or distance. The witness implies they have more footage of a second light (possible just the first again) and a helicopter with a search light.
Caption (rough translation):
On August 9, 2009 at 19:03:00, five witnesses (myself included), observed an object completely silent at low altitude, moving from north to south. [It] virtually stops for a moment, then accelerates and disappears [for] 20 seconds, [then another light] appeared or the same object again from north to south.
This object meets the same characteristics as the first, but then changed his tone [possibly colour?] and disappears.
After 5 minutes, a helicopter with a spotlight that illuminates the area that was not discarded or aware of the objects [sounds like the helicopter was unaware of the lights?].
Brackets are my words. Hopefully they will release the second footage soon which I believe also shows the second light and the helicopter.

Lots and lots of people are seeing strange lights all over the world. Here in the UK, there are new sightings on an almost daily basis – but what are they?
Below is one possible explanation, and one that I personally believe is the cause of 99.9% of all the sightings. I know this will open up a debate, and I know a lot of people will disagree with me, but without solid video proof, Chinese style lanterns are probably the best explanation.
The heavenly lantern festival takes place once a year, and usually held 15 days after the Chinese New Year. Historically, paper lanterns where used to send messages over the enemy lines.

The bizarre sightings began at 11pm on Saturday and the spectacular show in the sky above Muir of Ord, Ross-shire ended at 1am.
Residents watched in awe as three bright orange dome-shaped objects hovered then flew at high speed in random spirals closer and closer to the village.
Last night (leading expert?) Nick Pope said: “This could be one of the most significant UFO events in recent history.” — “Sightings like this are hugely significant because they are very rare.”
“Most UFOs are seen by single witnesses so it’s very difficult to get any proof. For whole streets of people to see something is almost without precedent and this sounds like one of the most significant UFO events in recent history.” — “It’s also very unusual for a UFO to be seen for such a long time. Most are very brief.”
This is brilliant – a little old, but perfectly relevant seeing how it’s the 40th anniversary of the moon landing.
Buzz Aldrin is confronted by a moon landing skeptic! The man angrily calls Aldrin a “coward” and a “liar.” Aldrin tells the man to get away from him, and when he refuses, Aldrin promptly punches him in the face.
The conspiracy theorist tried to sue Aldrin but the judge threw out the case, saying he had it coming!

Professional wedding photographer Helen Joynson captured these remarkable images while staying at her parents’ house at Fitz, near Shrewsbury.
The 40-year-old said she had not even realised there had been anything unusual in the sky until noticing up to three UFOs when processing her digital photographs on a computer.
Mrs Joynson said the snaps were taken on a pleasant summer’s evening on July 12 at about 10.30pm.
She said: “My mother and I had just been reviewing the pictures which I had taken over our family weekend away before going to bed, as we did so we noticed a huge cloud in the sky at the end of the garden.
“It was vast and reflected the town lights of Shrewsbury on its base. As I had the camera in my hand, I stepped into the garden and took a few shots.
The UFOs were not seen by either of us at the time. It was only on looking at the pictures on my computer that I first noticed them.”
Mrs Joynson, who lives in Chester, said she had no explanation for what the UFOs could be.

There has been numerous sightings of UFOs over Changsha. Earlier this year in April, a UFO was seen above the city twice in two days, and the event received extensive media coverage within China. Since then there have been at least half a dozen UFO sightings by residents of the city. This most recent footage (above) appears to have been filmed out of someone’s living room window.

A Police Sergeant has come forward claiming to have seen three exceptionally tall beings inspecting a crop circle near Silbury Hill, Wiltshire.
The incident happened around 5am on the 7th July 2009 as the Sergeant was driving his private car towards Marlborough, along the A4 past the ancient monument.
The Sergeant stopped and watched them for a few minutes, while they appeared to be examining the crop. He then shouted at them from a distance, but they appeared to ignore him.
He then entered the field and they suddenly became aware of him and started to run at an amazing speed to the south, away from the formation and Silbury Hill.
He said that he then glanced away for just a few seconds, and when he looked back, they had completely vanished! He also said he was aware of a static crackling sound in and around him in the field, which seemed to change level and possibly effect the movement of the plants.
He also claimed to experience a headache in the field, which became worse as the day progressed.
