So is the infamous Tynedale black cat back?
Hundreds of witnesses have reported seeing the big cats near Bluewater, but so far, no conclusive proof has been found.
But Neil Arnold from Kent Big Cat Research is appealing for more witnesses to come forward, as he believes the animals do exist, and would like to see them recognised and protected so as to make the public aware of what’s out there.
Andrew Hollings was amazed when he saw the massive creature slink out of woodland near Station Road, Welham Green, on Wednesday.
The dad-of-one, of Holloways Lane, said: “It was the size of a Labrador or Alsatian with a long tail.”
The 57-year-old said he had been walking his family’s Yorkshire terrier pup at around 8pm when the cat - possibly the legendary Beast of Brookmans Park - decided to show itself.
Yesterday, was the longest day of the year here in the UK, I say UK as it was still the day before or even tomorrow in some parts of the world! So seeing how we’re now living in Wiltshire, it seemed logical to try and witness the Summer Solstice sunrise at either Stonehenge or Avebury. Stonehenge didn’t seem like the best option, as we felt it would be crowded and a nightmare to get there and park, especially in the dark, so we picked Avebury.
So at around 11 pm on Tuesday, we headed up over Knapp Hill, down past West Kennett and up the Stone Avenue to Avebury. The usual parking was out-of-bounds, so we had to park in a National Trust field with all the other solstice punters. Police and parking wardens wearing bright yellow, reflective vests were everywhere and what little excitement we had drifted away with the wind and light drizzle that was in the air.
You may remember that I tried to start a Friday’s Round-up last year, but I failed miserably. So miserably in fact I only managed one Friday!
But now, with UFO Mondays , I want to try and re-start a quick update of the weeks news and stories - some of which I have already talked about during the week, and others I’ve been following or noticed, but didn’t necessarily think were worth their very own post. So here goes, Friday 16th June 2006.
On Cryptoworld this week:
UFOs and Aliens started off the week, with a family from Haydock seeing a a flashing ball of light speed across the sky, before disappearing into the clouds, and Aliens allegedly communicated through a former police working, warning England would reach the semi-finals, but struggle to get any further! I’m not a big fan of the sport, but I’m now intrigued to see how far we do get, and if the ‘Aliens’ were right!

Some 3000 spectators watched this years event, cheering on contestants from as far afield as Australia, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden and the United States, as they raced 200 metres down a steep slope after the wheel-shaped Double Gloucester cheese, decorated in a blue and red ribbon.
Out of the 25 people hurt, 12 were spectators, one of whom was hit by one of the hard, dinner-plate-sized cheeses used in the race.
